World’s tallest dog puts most NBA athletes to shame

WASHINGTON – Forget running with the big dogs. This one would crush you under a wayward paw.

The Guinness World Records has confirmed that George, a 230-pound Great Dane, is not only the world’s largest dog, but he’s also the tallest dog ever recorded.

He stands almost 4 feet tall and measures over 7 feet 3 inches when standing on his hind legs, reports the Daily Mail.

That’s taller than Kareem Abdul Jabar, and roughly the height of two Snookis.

Born in November 2005, George consumes about 180 pounds of food a month and sleeps on a mattress meant to accommodate two full-grown adults.

He also has to bend over to drink out of the kitchen faucet, according to his webpage.

Fans can soon learn more about the giant pooch with an upcoming book, “Giant George: Life with the World’s Biggest Dog,” written by his owner, Dave Nasser.
