Creepy porcelain dolls placed at homes of girls they resemble

WASHINGTON — Police say a woman gave part of her doll collection to families who belonged to her church as an act of kindness, a Los Angeles TV station is reporting.

But the unexpected gifts concerned residents as the porcelain dolls were left in front of the homes of several girls they resemble in a California community, ABC News reports.

At least eight families received the dolls in the Talega community of San Clemente. All of the recipients were around 10 years old.

Families began filing police reports about the dolls on June 16, but the placement of dolls continued.

Police didn’t suspect foul play in the the eerie case but investigated anyway.

The woman told police she was going through a doll collection and wanted the young girls to have them, according to NBC Los Angeles.
