6 to stand trial in group home case in Mexico

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A Mexican judge has ordered six employees of a group home raided amid charges of abuse and filthy conditions to stand trial.

The Attorney General’s Office says in a statement Thursday that the five men and one woman are charged with kidnapping and human trafficking.

It says it has also ordered the property that housed the Great Family group home to be seized.

The shelter was raided by police on July 15 and found about 600 children and adults living at the filthy, trash-strewn compound.
