1 dead, 1 injured in Fairfax ‘domestic-related’ shooting

WASHINGTON — A woman in Fairfax, Virginia, was fatally shot and a man was in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after what police described as a “domestic-related” shooting on Friday afternoon.

Fairfax County police responded to a report of a shooting in the 9200 block of Okla Drive about 3:25 p.m., according to police spokeswoman Julie Parker.

Police said the call came from a family member. Police have not yet released the identities of the man and woman but described both as middle-aged.

Authorities were continuing to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.

Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
