Minibus crash in France kills 5 children, 1 adult

PARIS (AP) — The collision of a truck and a minibus near the northeastern French city of Troyes has left six people dead, including five children.

French President Francois Hollande issued a statement expressing his sadness and shock at Tuesday’s accident in the town of Courteranges.

It’s not immediately clear what caused the accident, and Hollande has asked for an investigation.

French TV showed footage of the small minibus completely smashed and the truck spun diagonally across a road in the countryside.

France’s interior minister will visit the site of the crash Tuesday night.
