WASHINGTON – Some say putting bacon on anything makes it better. Whether that applies to an ice cream sundae — the jury is still out.

Burger King is taking that chance, bringing the odd dessert concoction to the masses. It’s just the beginning of the chain’s new menu.

A tipster wrote to GrubGrade that his Burger King in Nashville, Tenn. recently introduced the bacon sundae.

This is not the first time bacon has made an appearance on the dessert market. Jack in the Box championed the bacon milkshake, despite the fact that it contained no real bacon. And Denny’s tried the Maple Bacon Sundae.

Other menu items unveiled at his Burger King restaurant were sweet potato french fries and pulled pork sandwiches.

Fans of the bacon-ice cream combo are tweeting and sharing Instagram photos about their treat. The chain appears to be using Nashville as a test market.
