Missing Fairfax woman’s body found in pond

WASHINGTON — The Fairfax County police have found the body of a woman who had been reported missing early Tuesday morning.

The police said that at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday they got a call from a house in the 6100 block of Meadowpond Court in Burke, Virginia. Members of the family said they awoke to find that Frances Robinson, 67, was missing, and that she’d last been seen at about midnight.

The police said Robinson wasn’t wearing a coat in the subfreezing temperatures. They searched for her with bloodhounds and a helicopter, and found her body at about 6 a.m. in the shallow end of Burke Pond on Windward Drive.

They’re continuing to investigate the incident.
