WYTHEVILLE, Va. (AP) — A rail line through southwest Virginia is back in business after a Norfolk Southern derailment left 14 cars off the track.

Norfolk Southern spokesman Robin Chapman said Wednesday the line re-opened shortly before midnight Tuesday. The derailment late Monday in Wytheville (WITH’-vihl) involved a three-engine, 33-car train en route from Louisville, Kentucky, to the Port of Virginia.

There were no injuries and state environmental officials said there was no evidence of any spills.

Wythe County spokesman Jeremy T.K. Farley said crews worked Wednesday to remove the wreckage from the derailment, which scattered vehicle carriers around the tracks. Two cars were also carrying other cargo.

Norfolk Southern said it is investigating the cause of the derailment.
