Washington state park closes over health scare

BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — Authorities in Kitsap County, Washington, have temporarily closed Horseshoe Lake County Park while they investigate an outbreak of norovirus-type illness.

The health and park departments have received dozens of reports of people getting sick within a day or two of swimming at Horseshoe Lake. The source of the illness is still being investigated.

Officials are asking people who got sick after swimming in the lake between Thursday and Sunday to contact the health department.

The county park appears to be the only area on Horseshoe Lake affected by the illness.
