RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Upholstery maker Vanguard Furniture plans to open a manufacturing operation in Carroll County that will create more than 200 jobs.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe said Tuesday that the facility will be North Carolina-based Vanguard’s first production operation in Virginia.

McAuliffe says in a news release that Vanguard plans to invest $550,000 in the project. The plant will produce household furniture upholstery and will be located in the Carroll County Industrial Park.
