Md. police: Man attacks, critically injures girlfriend, 2 kids

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a woman and her two children were critically injured in an attack at a home on the Eastern Shore.

Princess Anne Police said in a statement that the attack took place around 3 a.m. Tuesday at a townhouse.

Police Chief Tim Bozman said by telephone that the mother’s boyfriend stabbed the woman and then assaulted her and the children with a hammer. He did not know what led up to the attack. The woman and her children were taken to a hospital, where Bozman says they are in critical condition.

Bozman says the man is in custody, but police have not yet charged him.
