Police seek ID on Safeway assault suspect (Video)

WASHINGTON — Police in D.C. are looking for helping identifying an assault suspect.

The incident occurred at the Safeway grocery store in the 400 block of L Street NW around 3 p.m. on July 2.

The Washington Blade reports a man was punched several times in the face by an unidentified woman while she called him a homophobic slur.

The victim approached the woman who was standing near a customer service counter to ask if she was waiting in line, reports The Blade.

Witnesses say she then turned around and began punching him before security guards kicked her out.
