FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a Maryland man is dead after being crushed by a large spool of metal.

Television station WBAL-TV (http://bit.ly/1qgPArf ) reports the workplace accident happened Tuesday at Canam Steel in Point of Rocks. Maryland State Police say troopers were called shortly after 1 p.m. to the company’s building on Clay Street, where a man had been loading a large spool of metal onto a crate.

State police say the spool of metal became loose and fell onto 38-year-old Tyrone Cameron of Hagerstown who was pronounced dead at the scene.
