Body of missing swimmer recovered in Md.

CATONSVILLE, Md. (AP) — Divers have recovered the body of a man who went missing while swimming in Patapsco Valley State Park.

Maryland Department of Natural Resources police say the body of 27-year-old Alvaro Ordonez of Cheverly was recovered on Saturday afternoon.

Baltimore County police say Ordonez had been swimming near a dam when he went missing around 3 p.m. Friday.

Police say divers searched in the dam’s hydraulic system for the body, and because of recent rainfall, the currents were stronger than usual, which made the search more difficult.
