D.C. Taxicab Commission warns of attacks by drivers

WASHINGTON – The D.C. Taxicab Commission says that seven passengers have been attacked by their drivers over the past few weeks, and is putting out a warning to be careful when getting in a cab.

In altercations with drivers, passengers have been punched in the face, and dragged out of cabs.

Six of the seven attacks have been on women, and the commission says women should be especially careful when getting into a cab.

ABC7 reports that seven drivers have been arrested.

Panic buttons will be installed in D.C. cabs by December, because of the recent outbreak of violence by drivers.
