1 man dead, another injured in Ashburn stabbing

WASHINGTON — One man has died and another is in the hospital after a reported stabbing incident Friday near the Ashburn Meadows apartment complex in Ashburn, Virginia.

Loudoun County police said officers discovered a man suffering stab wounds around 6:15 p.m. in the Whitford Square area. He was taken to the hospital, and officials say he is in stable condition.

Police were dispatched after a child saw a man who was bloody come out of a wooded area, Loudoun County Sheriff Michael Chapman told NBC Washington.

Officials said the body of a second victim who was stabbed to death was discovered during a search of the area. Police said he was lying face-down in a nearby creek.

Chapman told NBC Washington that the stabbing may be gang-related.

Police have not identified any suspects. They said the investigation is ongoing.
