Pedestrian killed in Annandale crash

WASHINGTON — A Maryland man was killed crossing the road Saturday night in Annandale, Virginia.

Ha Yong Jung, 55, of Ellicott City, Maryland, was not in the crosswalk when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling west on the 7100 block of Columbia Pike. The truck had just exited a parking lot.

The driver, a 51-year-old woman, stayed on the scene.

The victim was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash and no charges are anticipated, police said.

Super Pet Expo offers its first in-person event in Virginia since pandemic began

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
