Metro closing 3 stations on red line this weekend

WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro is closing three subway stations and platforms on the red line this weekend and will offer free shuttle buses as an alternative.

The transit agency says Dupont Circle and Farragut North will be closed all weekend beginning at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. The red line platform at Metro Center also will be closed. Workers are renovating the ceilings and communication systems in the stations.

Red line trains will be operating between Shady Grove and Woodley Park every 10 minutes. On the other side of the construction zone, trains will operate between Gallery Place and Glenmont stations every 15 minutes.

Free shuttle buses will replace trains between Woodley Park and Gallery Place.

Orange and green line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals. Blue and yellow trains operate every 20 minutes.
