Power outages affect hundreds in region

WASHINGTON — Wednesday night’s storms left thousands of people without power in the D.C. area Thursday morning.

There were more than 8,000 customers without electricity during the height of the storm.

Pepco say there are more than 300 customers without power as of 9:30 a.m. A majority of the outages are in Montgomery County with Prince George’s County close behind.

Dominion Power is reporting more than 400 outages in Northern Virginia as of 9:30 a.m. A majority of the outages are in Fairfax County.
