Gasoline prices increase 3 cents in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia gasoline prices have inched up by an average of 3 cents per gallon in the last week.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports that the average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in the state was $3.48 Sunday. That’s up from $3.45 a week ago and 7 cents higher than the $3.41 Virginia motorists were paying a year ago.

The good news for Virginians is that it’s 20 cents below the national average.

Average prices range from $3.36 in Roanoke to $3.56 in the Norfolk area. Motorists are paying $3.43 in Richmond and $3.39 in Charlottesville.
