Brantley returns to Indians lineup

CLEVELAND (AP) — Indians left fielder Michael Brantley has returned to the lineup after being sidelined with a concussion.

Brantley was injured trying to break up a double play sliding into second base in the third inning Monday against the Los Angeles Angels. He left that game an inning later because of discomfort in his head and neck, and the concussion was diagnosed the following day.

Brantley missed the next two games and singled as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning Friday against Detroit.

Brantley is batting .326 and leads the team with 11 home runs and 46 RBIs. He’s also second in the majors with eight outfield assists.
