Man gets 107 years in slaying at DC cookout

WASHINGTON (AP) — A District man has been sentenced to 107 years in prison for fatally shooting a teenager at a July 4 cookout.

Twenty-four-year-old Calvin Shaw had been convicted in April of first-degree murder and numerous other offenses in the incident. He was sentenced Friday in Superior Court.

According to government evidence, Shaw and two accomplices opened fire on a group of young men on July 4, 2012. Nineteen-year-old Crevontai Key was killed; three others were shot but survived.
