24-year-old indicted in Md. triple murder

WASHINGTON — A man accused of shooting five people and killing three of them earlier this summer at a home in the D.C. region has been indicted.

A Prince George’s County grand jury indicted 24-year-old Lawrence Rogers from Capitol Heights on charges including three counts of murder, and two counts of attempted first degree murder, according to a Friday release.

On the night of June 24, five people were found shot at a home on Orleans Avenue in Forestville, Maryland.

Police says witnesses gave them a description of the shooter, and they obtained surveillance video that showed a man running from the scene.

Officers say tips from the community are what led to Rogers’ arrest.

A court date for Rogers has not yet been set.
