Female realtors warned against aggressive caller

WASHINGTON — Female real estate agents in Virginia are being warned about an aggressive man who calls at night and requests to see properties  right away.

“Show me anything you can this evening,” the Virginia Association of REALTORS says the man asked one agent.

The man is very persistent, according to a news release. He has called several female agents multiple times within a few hours asking to be shown homes. He has also asked to see land properties at night.

“This is one of the situations that realtors face that sets off our alarm bell,” says Deborah Baisden, president of the Virginia Association of realtors, in a news release.

“Realtors generally have their radar working and can identify a potentially threatening situation. However, we are very concerned about our members’ safety and want to alert them to any suspicious behavior.”

The release says local law enforcement authorities have been contacted.
