Vehicle hits 2 Richmond officers during chase

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Two Richmond police officers are in the hospital after a vehicle hit them during a chase.

Police tell media outlets that the officers suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the officers tried to stop a vehicle around 3 a.m. Tuesday for a traffic infraction. The vehicle stopped and then fled.

The officers pursued the vehicle to a cul-de-sac, where the chase ended. As they approached the vehicle, the car turned around and hit them.

The vehicle’s driver and one passenger fled on foot. Police arrested a second passenger at the scene.
