Md. teen indicted in attack on 2 joggers in park

WALKERSVILLE, Md. (AP) — A high school student has been indicted in an attack on two women jogging in a park in Walkersville.

Frederick County State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says 17-year-old Kelby Ray Spence has been indicted by a county grand jury on charges including attempted second-degree rape.

Authorities say Spence tried to pull down the running pants of a 37-year-old woman who was jogging in Walkersville Community Park. Authorities say a 50-year-old woman running alongside the victim was also assaulted as she tried to fight of the attacker.

Spence is a student at Walkersville High School. He has no adult criminal record.

His attorney was in court Tuesday morning and unavailable for comment.
