Man sought for attempted sexual assault in New Carrollton

WASHINGTON — On Sunday, a 9-year-old boy was assaulted along the 8400 block of Annapolis Road in New Carrollton, according to the town’s police department.

A man attempted to sexually assault the boy after throwing him to the ground. The child resisted and was able to flee from the attacker.

The child fled to a residence where he reported the incident to family members. Those family members called the police; the child was not injured in the attack.

The suspect is being described as a black man in his 20s and roughly 6’0″ tall. He was wearing red shorts and a black shirt with a cartoon on the front with yellow in it.

The man has a closely cropped beard.
