TARRYTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — TARRYTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. (REGN) on Wednesday reported first-quarter earnings of $727.2 million.

The Tarrytown, New York-based company said it had profit of $6.75 per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, came to $9.47 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $8.52 per share.

The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $3.61 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.44 billion.
