Confirmed cases of measles in the D.C. region, the most recent being in the nation’s capital, have led to many questions for doctors. The questions about the illness are coming from not only those not vaccinated for the illness, but those who are, as well.

“I do get a lot of questions about measles,” said Dr. Gabrina Dixon, a pediatrician at Children’s National Hospital.

DC to receive $1.2M in settlement that bans drug companies from marketing in the city

The Attorney General for D.C. announced Monday that eight opioid drug manufactures will pay D.C. $1.2 million, as part of a larger nationwide settlement claiming the companies contributed to the "national opioid crisis." In a release from the office of Attorney General Brian Schwalb, he said the nationwide settlement will hold the eight companies — Alvogen, Amneal, Apotex, Hikima, Mylan, Sun, Indivior and Zydus — accountable for "putting profits over the health and well-being of D.C. residents."
