FBI Director Christopher Wray has announced plans to resign at the end of Biden’s term next month after a town hall discussion with his staff on Wednesday.
He did not give a specific date during his remarks, but announced his intention to leave at the end of the Biden administration.
“He had this conversation with the entire workforce because this has been brewing for a while — with the election recently,” WTOP National Security Correspondent JJ Green said.
On Monday, Senator Chuck Grassley called on Wray and his second in command to step down from their roles at the department. Grassley said the FBI hasn’t done enough to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct within its workforce or protect whistleblowers from retaliation.
