College Park man facing murder charges after stabbing outside Prince George’s Co. business

A 39-year-old College Park, Maryland, man has been arrested on a charge of murder after a Monday night stabbing in Beltsville, according to Prince George’s County police.

It happened just after 11 p.m. in the 10000 block of Baltimore Avenue, according to a news release from police.

First responders found a man wounded and unresponsive outside a business. He died at the scene and police have yet to release his identity.

Shortly after the stabbing, police found Francisco Ayala Alvarenga near the scene and took him into custody. According to police, the two men knew each other and were in an argument when Ayala Alvarenga stabbed the other man.

Ayala Alvarenga is charged with first- and second-degree murder and other related charges and is being held without bond in Prince George’s County.
