Police ID man fatally shot in District Heights parking lot

A man is dead after a shooting in a District Heights, Maryland, late Tuesday night.

Prince George’s County police responded to the shooting around 10:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Walters Lane, near the intersection with Pennsylvania Avenue, and found 43-year-old Arthur Weeks Jr. in a parking lot with a gunshot wound.



Weeks was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are still working to identify the suspect or suspects in the shooting and a motive.

Police disrupt multiple ‘illegal gatherings’ of car rallies in DC area

Police in Maryland and Virginia are investigating multiple car rallies in the D.C. area with reports of crowds of up to 300 people taking part in the "illegal" gatherings. Maryland State Police say that officers started breaking up gatherings around 10 p.m. on Saturday through 4 a.m. Sunday.
