Fairfax identifies county’s 1st fire fatality

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue identified the man killed in a Lorton, Virginia, fire over the weekend.

Charles Ngeh, 59, died in the house fire in the 9100 block of Aspenpark Court Sunday.



Ngeh is the county’s first fire death of 2022.

Investigators are still looking for the cause of the two-alarm blaze.

A second person sustained minor injuries, the fire department said on Feb. 27.

Search continues for swimmer who went missing in Potomac River

The search resumed Wednesday for a man who went missing in the Potomac River, near Great Falls, one day ago. A man who was with two swimmers called 911 from the shoreline of the Potomac River, south of Sandy Landing, at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue told WTOP.
