2 arrested in Arlington after Columbia Pike murder

Police in Virginia’s Arlington County arrested two people Sunday in connection with the death of Reginald Scott, 45, of D.C.

The police found Scott dead in a parked car in the 3600 block of Columbia Pike at 7:42 a.m. on Saturday. He had been shot.

Based on evidence at the scene and witness statements, they arrested April Puckett, 46, and James Harris, 48, in connection with the homicide. Neither has a fixed address.



The police picked the two up near a bus stop at Columbia Pike and South Quincy Street.

Pucket is charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Harris is charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Both are being held without bond.

Fairfax County Police say an investigation into graffiti and arson at a Reston, Virginia, church is underway, as reaction to a divisive Supreme Court ruling that overturned landmark abortion cases continues. "The remarks spray painted were related to the recent Supreme Court Roe v. Wade ruling," the department said. "Officers are working with the staff of the church to review surveillance footage."
