Man killed in shooting at Frederick Co. Burger King

A man is dead after a shooting at a Burger King in Frederick County, Maryland Sunday evening. The shooting happened at around 7:15 p.m. when a man and a woman got into a fight at the restaurant, according to a Frederick County Police Department release.



Another man that police identified as Jaion Antonio Penamon tried to intervene in the fight at the Burger King on Routzahn’s Way. By the time Frederick Police officers got to the restaurant, they found Penamon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the vestibule where he later died. Police arrested a suspected shooter, but did not share the suspect’s identity, according to the police department’s statement.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help the Penamon family. More than $30,000 was donated in just one day. The incident is still under investigation.  

Maryland man shot by Frederick Co. deputies after violating protective order

A man who threw an object at law enforcement was shot by a deputy on Friday night in Knoxville, Maryland, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office says. Deputies say they served Jacob Christian Wilford, 22, of Knoxville, with a protective order Friday evening and told him to stay away from a nearby home on East Mountain Road. The order also told him not to abuse or threaten the home's residents.
