A man is dead Tuesday morning after an accident at a Home Depot in Fairfax County, Virginia.

It happened just after midnight at the Home Depot on Merrilee Drive.

Police said Paul Gato 43, of Woodbridge was using the forklift to unload supplies from a delivery truck when the forklift fell on top of him. The driver of the truck heard the crash and saw Gato under the forklift. The driver called 911. Gato was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is currently no indication of criminal activity. Police are working with officials from the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

In a statement to news partners NBC Washington, Home Depot spokesperson Margaret Smith said Gato had worked for the company for nine years.

“Paul was a happy, friendly and caring person who was always there when someone needed a hand,” Smith said. “We’re heartbroken by the loss of our friend and fellow associate of nine years, and his family are in our prayers.”

Fairfax County police said detectives are still investigating the incident.
