2021 Maryland local elections: Results in races for mayor, city council

While none of Maryland’s statewide offices were on the ballot Tuesday, elections were held for some local and municipal government positions. In the WTOP listening area, residents of Annapolis, Frederick, Laurel, Gaithersburg and Mount Airy headed to the polls.

Where races have been called by local election officials, winning candidates are underlined and bolded in the list below; incumbent candidates are marked with an asterisk (*).



Annapolis

Some council races were still too close to call as of Wednesday evening. Remaining ballots will be counted at a final canvas on Tuesday, Nov. 9.

But a group of high school students in Montgomery County, Maryland, is trying to solve that problem for a Northern Virginia ice cream shop that employs people with disabilities.
