The Hunt: Online videos linked to killing of British MP

David Amess, a British politician who served as a Member of Parliament (MP), was killed by a 25-year-old self-radicalized man on Oct. 15.

On this episode of The Hunt, with WTOP National Security Correspondent J.J. Green, Dr. Hans Jakob Schindler, senior director of the Counter Extremism Project, said online videos were largely responsible for it.

A retired U.S. Navy cryptologist, crisscrossing Ukraine while mapping the possible routes a potential Russian attack might take, has warned Russia’s military that “Kyiv is not Beirut in 1983," and that Ukrainian forces — and civilians — could mount a formidable defense. “There's a misimpression that this capital, this country, is a country under siege, like Damascus or Tripoli, Libya or Benghazi," said Malcolm Nance, Executive Director of the Terror Asymmetrics Project on Strategy, Tactics and Radical Ideologies. "It’s not. This is a city the size of Chicago. There are three-and-a-half million people in this city alone, and they will fight.”
