Over 100 school bus routes canceled in Charles Co. on 4th day of sickout

Parents in Charles County, Maryland, continue to scramble in an effort to get their kids to school as a labor action by bus drivers stretches into a fourth day.

Over 100 routes are shown as canceled Wednesday morning, according to the Charles County Public Schools website.

Drivers are in the midst of a sickout pressuring the Maryland school district’s administrators for fairer wages.

Drivers plan to continue negotiations over wages and other issues with the school system in mid-November.

100 vases stolen from Md. cemetery recovered; 2 people arrested

Two men are under arrest, charged with stealing more than 100 bronze memorial vases from a Waldorf, Maryland, cemetery, but investigators were able to recover them before they could be melted into scrap metal. Charles County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Diane Richardson said the thefts took place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, on Mattawoman Beantown Road, in June and July.
