Woman dies in motorcycle accident in Charles County, Md.

A woman died Saturday morning after losing control of her motorcycle, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Rose Annette Proctor, 41, was traveling on Billingsley Road when she lost control, crossed the centerline and was struck by oncoming traffic, police said.

She was pronounced dead after emergency responders attempted life-saving measures at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the passenger car was not injured and remained on the scene.

As COVID cases rise, Charles Co. switches 2 schools to virtual learning

After increased COVID-19 cases among staff and students, Charles County Public Schools will be closing St. Charles and Westlake high schools for in-person learning, Dec. 20 through Dec. 22. In a release Saturday night, CCPS stated that students at the two high schools will participate in classes through virtual learning on the dates posted. Staff and teachers will still be expected to report to their building on those days.
