After windswept Wednesday, get ready to grab a light jacket for a spring time chill in the D.C. region. Here’s what you need to know.

In parts of northern and western Maryland, western Loudoun and northern Fauquier counties in Virginia, and along the Interstate 81 corridor, there is a freeze warning through 9 a.m. Thursday.

“Lows will fall into the 30s by [Thursday] morning, so make sure to bundle up for late April as you step out the door,” Storm Team4 meteorologist Amelia Draper said.

On Thursday, winds pick up again, gusting to 30 to 40 mph throughout the day. Highs only warm into the 50s, with wind chills mainly in the 30s and 40s.

Friday will be seasonably cool, but pleasant.

Rain is looking likely Saturday evening with showers leaving early Sunday morning.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny early, then a mix of clouds and sun. Unseasonably brisk and chilly, with a few passing showers or sprinkles. Highs in the low to mid-50s.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and milder; not as windy. Highs in the low to mid-60s.
