1 dead in Loudoun Co. plane crash

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal plane crash that occurred in western Loudoun County on Thursday. It happened just after 3 p.m. Police were called about a plane that crashed on the 35000 block of Charles Town Pike near the West Virginia border in an area known as Loudoun Valley. A small, private aircraft was found in the woods several hundred feet off Route 9. One person has been killed.

WTOP’s Neal Augenstein, who reported from Loudoun County, said that the Federal Aviation Administration reported to the scene following the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board will be in charge of the investigation. It is too early to determine what caused the plane to crash. Below is the area where it happened. Loudoun County Public Schools to appeal court order on reinstating teacher

Loudoun County Public Schools in Virginia plans to appeal a judge's order to reinstate physical education teacher Byron Tanner Cross, who was suspended days after telling the school board he would not refer to transgender students by their preferred pronouns because of his religious beliefs. In a statement, LCPS said it "respectfully disagrees with the Circuit Court’s decision to issue the injunction, and it is appealing this ruling to the Supreme Court of Virginia."
