Small plane crashes in Charles County

A small plane crashed in Charles County, Maryland, on Wednesday, but the people on board were uninjured. Maryland State Police said the Cessna hit the tree line for unknown reasons and crashed around 9:45 a.m. in a wooded area on Bryans Road near Maryland Airport. Two people were on board with no injuries reported, state police said. Hazmat crews were on the scene to assist with spilled fuel.

Charles Co. woman shot, killed while riding 4-wheeler

A woman was shot and killed in La Plata, Maryland, and another was injured while riding a four-wheeler on Saturday night, and police are searching for the shooter. The shooting happened just after 11:30 p.m. on the 600 block of Pomonkey Way. The victims and another person were riding a four-wheeler near a group of townhomes when a gun was fired towards them.
