2 injured in 4-vehicle crash in Alexandria

Two men were taken to the hospital after a four-vehicle crash in Alexandria, Virginia, Saturday night. The crash occurred around 9 p.m. at Duke and South Patrick streets in downtown Alexandria. Alexandria police said both men suffered with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash closed the northbound lanes of Route 1 between Duke and South Patrick streets for several hours. Lanes reopened following a police investigation shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday morning. Alexandria lowers property tax rate, makes DASH buses free

Alexandria's property tax rate will go down for the first time in 15 years, and the Virginia city eliminated fares on the DASH bus system when the Alexandria City Council approved its budget for the next fiscal year. The budget of $770.7 million is 2.3% smaller than the current year's spending plan.
