2-year-old child shot in Montgomery County

A 2-year-old boy was shot in Montgomery County, Maryland, Saturday evening. Around 5:20 p.m. someone who identified themselves as one of the boy’s family members called reporting the shooting in a house on Brassie Place near Club House Road in Montgomery Village. The caller said they were on the way to the hospital. Montgomery County police said that the child was taken to the hospital suffering non-life-threatening injuries “in one of his lower extremities.”

Police said they determined the child did not live in the residence where the shooting took place. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and police said they have not yet determined whether the shooting was accidental or criminal. Below is a map of where the shooting took place. Nearly 20 residents displaced in Montgomery Village apartment fire

Seventeen residents of a Gaithersburg, Maryland, apartment building were displaced Monday evening in a fire blamed on a malfunctioning electrical outlet. The fire caused an estimated $500,000 in damage.
