2 dead after single-vehicle crash in Montgomery County

Two people are dead after the vehicle they were in left the roadway, rolling over several times in Germantown, Maryland, late Saturday night, police said. A 2013 Jeep Wrangler was traveling south on Ridge Road (Route 27) at Morning Star Drive when it left the roadway for unknown reasons before 11:43 p.m., according to Montgomery County police. Police said passenger Marryann Hardesty, 18, of Germantown, died at the scene. The driver, Dylan Bansi, 20, of Germantown died at a hospital.

Teen charged in Wootton High School shooting to remain in jail after bond hearing

The 16-year-old boy accused of shooting a fellow student inside Rockville, Maryland's Wootton High School on Monday texted a friend and asked him to bring a backpack to the school that prosecutors believe was carrying the gun, prosecutors said during a bond hearing Wednesday. The teenager, who's charged with attempted second-degree murder, will remain in jail after a judge ordered him held without bond at the conclusion of that hearing.
