Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) wants to keep its second headquarters safe. And it’s looking at a variety of methods like incognito barricades, a police presence on the campus, external facing cameras, and, oh yeah, “security robots.”

That’s according to some documents and emails Amazon and Arlington exchanged over the course of several months. Amazon did not get back to me on what kind of robots they had in mind patrolling their Crystal City and Pentagon City properties. But we know the company, just last year, secured a patent for an autonomous ground vehicle that could escort college students across a college campus. This, pictured above, could be what the company has in mind.

An Arlington official who attended these meetings was told “security robots” were just part of brainstorming sessions the company and county held and nothing was yet settled. I hope to live long enough to see crime fighting machines like the ED-209 from “Robocop” walking around. Anyway, let’s get to the other…
