Man charged after deadly Prince George’s Co. parking lot shooting

A suspect faces murder charges after a 33-year-old man was found dead in a supermarket parking lot in Chillum, Maryland, on Saturday afternoon.

Guy Young, 40, of Chillum, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting of Samuel Wright, of no fixed address, Prince George’s County police said Monday.

Around 3:45 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 5600 block of Sargent Road for a report of a shooting. There, they found Wright in a parking lot with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

Police said Young and Wright knew each other, and that they had gotten into an argument before the deadly shooting.

Young is in custody in D.C. pending extradition to Prince George’s County, police added.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the case to call (301) 772-4925, or submit a tip online.
