Teen struck by MARC train in Laurel

WASHINGTON — A teenager was struck by a MARC train Monday evening, sending him to the hospital with severe injuries and suspending service on the Camden Line. The teenager, initially reported dead, was struck on the tracks near Laurel, leaving Camden Line service suspended between the Laurel and Muirkirk stations. EMS transported the teen to a local trauma center “severely injured but alive.

The accident comes less than 24 hours after a man was hit and killed by a Penn Line train north of Bowie. This story will be updated as more details become available. Ethics panel calls for removal, censure of Prince George’s Co. school board members

An ethics panel within the Prince George's County, Maryland, board of education has called for a number of school board members to be censured or removed from their seats. A school board spokesperson told WTOP that the ethics panel presented findings Wednesday during the board’s executive session, which was closed to the public. The board voted to "concur" with the panel's report and recommendations.
