WASHINGTON — Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke will step down from his position at the end of the year. His resignation came amid multiple investigations into ethics violations, including allegations that Zinke used his office for personal gain. President Trump tweeted on Saturday morning that Zinke, who has held the position for almost two years, would be leaving the administration. Trump said Zinke’s successor to lead the Department of the Interior will be announced next week.

The former Montana congressman and Navy SEAL faces a number of probes by federal investigators, including one involving dealings between a foundation Zinke created and the chairman of an energy company.
